2011 DYNA STREET BOB
It's True! I traded in the 2006 Road Glide. 40,000 plus miles
and lots of memories. The weight and size was starting to become
a issue. I tend to ride very hard, and the size was taken its
toll on my operation surgery area. So after riding a couple of
Dyna's I just like the Street Bob. It was between the Bob and
Cross Bones. I couldn,t deal with the springer frontend.
I had made statements that I'd not going to change anything. Well the bike had no sound to speak of with the stock exhaust. The 96 inch motor
had some good power for stock right off the floor. I will say that the setup was the worse I've seen on a brand new bike. I've already talked
to the dealership and my good friend in service. I was told to go though the whole bike. Seeing as they didn't even connect the positive Battery
Cable to the Battery. The Cable was just shoved under the cover and was making contact. Bike shorted out on a ride with my friends Andy, and Len.
So after being cut off by three to five cars. One Lady telling me she didn't even hear me. I told her to open her F%&king eye's. I decided to get some Vance
and Hines Shortshots Staggered pipes. I went with the Screaming Eagle highflow big breather setup.
Not having bags after owning a bagger is harder then I thought. So I put on some Saddlemen detachable bags made for Dyna's. They even have locks on
the three latches. The only thing I don't like is the blinker relocation mounts. I'll be looking into changing them later next year. I also added the rear
back seat offered by Harley. I added the seat to attach my Saddlemen tour pack. This will help when I need more storage space.
So the next thing I did to the Street bob was add the Arlen Ness fairing. Yes it's the same
Shield used in the Son of Anarchy TV show. I've seen these for years when I lived in California. When I was a kid,
and then again as an adult. The fairing really does get the wind off you chest when riding up above the legal speed
limit. No wonder so many Club rides run these on the Dyna's and FXR's.
The last couple of things I added where the HD back seat for this model bike. I also added the Saddlemen hard detachable bags.
They even lock. I was so surprised how much I can get into these bags. I also added rear passenger pegs for those times someone
needs to jump on the back. Those are Vance & Hines shortshot staggered pipe. I also for the time being added a Fuel pak for the FI
needs. That's Hd big sucker air high flow air cleaner.
I also added new brake and shift levers. New PM grips. My future plans are to black out the frontend. I'll also be added brakes
to the right side like the fat Bob. This bikes lacks the power I like in my front brakes. I'll be changing over to Power Commander V with
Auto tune. Plus maybe a stereo setup that uses IPOD.
